Cooperation
◆ Agreement on Science and
Technology Cooperation
It was in March
1992 signed by Chinese State Councilor H.E. Song Jian and
Singapore Deputy Primer H.E. Lee Hsien Loong on behalf
Chinese and Singapore governments respectively.
China-Singapore Joint Committee of Science and Technology
Cooperation, the body responsible for administrating the
agreement, consists of representatives from the Ministry of
Science and Technology (MOST) of China and Agency of
Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) of Singapore. The
inter-governmental cooperation between the two governments
includes two main aspects, joint R&D and promoting
commercialization of scientific research achievements in the
fields of material, manufacturing, biotechnology,
microelectronics and IT etc. Six sessions have held by both
State Authorities up to now.
◆ Call for Joint
Research Projects (JRP)
The call
for China-Singapore Joint Research Projects (JRP) is
launched annually. The annual rollout JRP plan for year
2001, the 4th call, is for projects of microelectronics,
information and communication technology. For submission of
project proposals, Chinese scientists please contact Dept.

Chinese Scholars in S&T
