Reminder of avoiding going to China mainland by transit flights
2021/02/17

At present, the world is still faced with the severe situation of COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the high risk of cross-infection during international travel, passengers are kindly advised to follow the principle of “no travel for non-essential or non-urgent reasons”.

For passengers flying to China mainland for essential reasons, please take local direct flights rather than transit flights via a third country or region. The Chinese Embassy and Consulate will no longer issue green health codes to transit passengers(passengers from the countries or regions that have no direct flights to China mainland are excluded ).

Accordingly, for passengers from countries or regions where there are direct flights to China mainland taking transit flights to China on 25 February and beyond, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore will no longer issue green health codes. This includes those who transfer to China or third countries or regions after entering Singapore, but excluding the Chinese sea crews who disembark and return to China via Singapore. The relevant passengers shall take local direct flights rather than transit flights to China.

To ensure the smooth verification and approval of health code or health declaration code, passengers flying to China shall upload the paid air tickets to China together with the negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body test result certificates while applying for the health codes. For passengers who do not mark their Singapore long-term pass numbers in the test certificates, together with testing certificates, they shall submit relevant document to prove their residence status, such as air tickets , boarding pass to Singapore or entry and exit record.

For passengers from countries or regions that have no direct flights to China mainland, they must follow the principle of “one transit only” and need to first apply for the health codes at the Chinese Embassy and Consulate where they reside. Before taking the transit flights to China mainland in Singapore, they must apply for the health codes at the Chinese Embassy in Singapore by uploading the screenshot of health code or certified health declaration code issued by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the place of their departure, together with certificates issued by the testing institutions in Singapore. For passengers who failed to obtain the health code or certified health declaration code at the place of their original departure or acquired the health codes by forged itinerary, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore will not issue the health codes.

For passengers who will take the transit flights to China via Singapore before 25 February, please refer to the Notice on Nucleic Acid and IgM Anti-Body Tests for Transit Passengers to China released on 2 February ( website: http://www.chinaembassy.org.sg/chn/lsfw/zytzs/t1850495.htm )to apply for the health codes.
