On 20 March, 2018, His Excellency Hong Xiaoyong, Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Singapore, presented the copy of Credentials to Mr. Ong Siew Gay, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore.

Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong thanked the Singaporean side for the facilitation accorded on his arrival. He said the China-Singapore relations are at a new historical start and he is committed to fulfill the honour and responsibilities as the Chinese Ambassador at such an important juncture of bilateral relations. Ambassador Hong also emphasized that the Chinese side highly values the China-Singapore relations, and that he is ready to work with the Singaporean colleagues to promote further growth of the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Chief of Protocol Mr. Ong welcomed Ambassador Hong on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and reaffirmed the willingness of the Singaporean side to accord Ambassador Hong all the facilitation and support to fulfill the duties.

Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong arrived in Singapore on 15 March, 2018.
